AGI-1 is the public product brand for the AGI-1 desktop agent on macOS and Windows. These terms cover your use of the desktop shell and the AGI-1 cloud service. Short version: you provide your own OpenAI API Key for cloud tasks, the desktop package does not include backend source code or a shared provider key, and an agent that operates your computer deserves your attention while it works.
OpenAI charges API usage to the account associated with the key you provide. AGI-1 does not control OpenAI pricing, account limits, rate limits, availability, or refunds.
AGI-1 provides a desktop frontend shell that connects to the AGI-1 cloud backend. This is not a sale of source code and not a transfer of any intellectual property.
Protected prompts and orchestration logic remain on the AGI-1 backend. The downloadable app contains client UI and local control surfaces; your OpenAI key is encrypted by macOS.
The direct download is free. A separate one-time Polar checkout is an optional purchase that supports development. Refunds for that purchase follow the published refund policy and the payment provider's applicable rules.
AGI-1 works with AI models through the AGI-1 backend. Those services are provided by their vendors under their own terms. Users provide an OpenAI API Key in the desktop shell; provider availability, charges, rate limits, and outages remain outside our control.
The software is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the extent applicable law allows such limits. To the same extent, our total liability for claims relating to the software is limited to the amount you paid through the optional Polar purchase in the period allowed by applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or affects consumer rights that applicable law does not allow to be waived.
See the refund policy.
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted here with a new date. Continued use after a change means acceptance of the updated terms for future use.
